Meet Ms. Jurgensen!Welcome! I'm so glad to be sharing sixth grade with you and your families!
Let me tell you a little about myself! I was born and raised in Moscow, Idaho. I became a first generation college graduate when I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 2003 from the University of Idaho. I moved to Washington in 2006 and earned my Master of Education degree from the University of Washington in 2009. Over the past 11 years, I taught fifth grade at Little Mountain Elementary in Mount Vernon, worked in early childhood education programs, and substitute taught in K-12 classrooms. Most recently, I taught 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Whatcom Middle School. This is my first year at Shuksan and I am so excited to be here with you! When I'm not at Shuksan, I stay busy enjoying the outdoors, reading, spending time with my family and friends, and planning my upcoming wedding! I really enjoy living in Bellingham and I am so fortunate to be a part of Shuksan!
